Great Brickish Bake Off

2 August 2016 – Fans disappointed by the news The Great British Bake Off’s anticipated return for series 7 has been delayed to make way for the Olympics, can get a miniature slice of Bake Off action at the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort. Today the Resort unveiled their homage to the baking phenomena – a 12,186 brick replica of the iconic set complete with stunning 6cm REAL versions of all six winner’s showstopping cakes cooked up in minute detail.

The Bake Off scene took the Resort’s talented Model Making team 86 hours to build and includes the main Great British Bake Off tent plus the judging tent, 11cm high LEGO® recreations of comical presenting duo Mel and Sue, judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, and all previous winners. The team has paid close attention to detail and inside the tent are LEGO workstations, judging table and culinary gizmos galore.

“The Great British Bake Off has become such a British institution, so we wanted to celebrate the summer and bring it to life in Miniland,” commented PR Manager Lauren Moss. “This morning to celebrate the opening, we have put REAL miniature recreations of past showstoppers on display commissioned by the astonishingly talented culinary outfit, The Tattooed Bakers. It is amazing how much detail has been captured at 6cm high. Guests will be able to see our Model Makers mini LEGO versions of the cakes, we will also be adding the series 7 contestants to the scene, when they’re announced, and will be removing contestants every week to mirror the results of the competition.”

Miniland is one of the most popular attractions at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort bringing to life some of the world’s most famous landmarks in amazingly accurate miniature detail. The entire area features 12 scenes, created from 41 million individual bricks. The Bake Off scene will be in Miniland until November.
